Danny and I grew up together in the same church. I can't say that I knew him well though...he was a pretty quiet guy. It was hard for me to grasp the reality of his passing at the time it happened.
I remember that Dan Nagy made me feel seen. This is remarkable in that the majority of my classmates had no idea that I even existed. His early death made me unaccountably sad. I hope that his parents knew that their son was a kind person.
