Thomas Gerald Poley, 53, of King George, VA passed away on January 4, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Ames, Iowa on March 21, 1963, he was the son of Gerald E. Poley and the late Bernice H. Poley.  In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael J. Poley.  Thomas will be dearly missed by his wife, Karla Ann Poley; son, Alexander W. Poley; daughters, Maria T. Poley and Katherine A. Poley; brothers, Ernest A. Poley and Mark A. Poley; and sister, Theresa L. Hughes.

Thomas was employed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division as a computer scientist.  He volunteered at Archbishop Neale School and was proud to have received a Service Award for servicing their computers over the years.  Thomas was an avid coin collector and raving UVA Football fan.  He will be missed by all who knew him. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9th at 11AM at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 8855 Chapel Pt. Rd., Port Tobacco, MD; Interment to follow in the church cemetery.  Online condolences to the family can be made at arehartechols.com.
